DO YOU SPEAK RUSSIAN?

I came to Azerbaijan in 1992 so I can definitely communicate with you in Azerbaijani- but with some entertaining language mistakes thrown in. Sorry, not Russian.

WHAT ASSESSMENTS CAN YOU PROVIDE?

Developmental testing can show if your child has skills like other kids their age, or if they are falling behind. This test is called the PDMS-2.  For sensory issues, I can give the Sensory Profile 2, a standardized parent interview.  It describes your child's responses to sights, sounds, touch, movement, and smells.  I also have the BOT-2, a thorough assessment of coordination for school aged children.  For Autism symptoms, I can provide the Relationship Development Assessment  (RDA).  I have tests for visual perception and informal assessments for handwriting.  Therapeutic Listening assessment requires 1-2 clinic observations sessions and an extensive parent interview.

WHERE DO YOU SEE CLIENTS?

In your home, at your child's school, or at Occupational Therapy Consulting.

CAN YOU GIVE  ME A RECEIPT?

Absolutely.

WHAT METHODS DO YOU USE WITH CEREBRAL  PALSY?

For children with movement issues and abnormal tone, I have a background in the Bobath/NDT approach.  I do not prescribe medications.  I use activities where the child can be active, joyful, and challenged. I encourage parents to be in sessions with their child.

WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU HAVE?

Relationship Development Intervention Consultant (see RDIconnect.com)

WHAT IF MY CHILD DOESN’T HAVE A SPECIFIC DIAGNOSIS?

Many of the kids I have consulted in Baku have come without a specific diagnosis. The goal of Occupational Therapy is practical, not medical.  It  helps your child do everyday activities, regardless of what is limiting them. If you need a specific medical issue addressed, see your doctor.

WHAT CAN I BRING TO OUR FIRST MEETING?

Past assessments are helpful, and of course, your child.  Both parents are welcome.

DO YOU SUBMIT INSURANCE CLAIMS?

I can provide progress notes from our sessions for you to submit, but I do not deal with international insurance companies.
